Who Pays Less
- ASEAN students: if the main Student visa applicant holds a passport from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam, the charge is AUD 2,050, with AUD 1,255 for an adult family member and AUD 410 for a child.
- Pacific Island and Timor-Leste citizens pay a much lower Student visa charge (AUD 745) and a lower 485 charge.
- English-only (ELICOS) and non-award courses use the AUD 2,050 Student visa rate.
Other Fees That Changed
- Citizenship by conferral: AUD 595 (was AUD 575).
- Administrative Review Tribunal (ART): AUD 3,727 for most migration reviews (was AUD 3,580). See our ART deadline calculator if you have been refused.
- Applying again from inside Australia: some temporary visas also carry a Subsequent Temporary Application Charge of AUD 700.
Things to Keep in Mind
- What counts is the date you lodge. Applications lodged before 1 July 2026 kept the old charge, whenever they are decided.
- The visa charge is not the whole cost. Health checks, police certificates, biometrics, skills assessments and English tests are paid separately.
- Most charges are not refunded if the visa is refused, so check your eligibility before you pay.
