Frequently Asked Questions

Plain-English answers to the questions we are asked most often.

Are these visa tools free?

Yes. All of our tools are free to use, with no sign-up. They are built on the official Home Affairs rules and the Migration Regulations, and each tool shows the date its rules were last checked.

Which tool should I use?

If you are studying in Australia, start with the Student visa rules checker to see whether you can apply for your next Student visa here, and the Visa key dates planner to see your deadlines. Use the Work-hours tracker to stay under the 48-hour limit, the 485 checker when you are close to finishing your course, and the Visa conditions decoder to understand the codes on your visa. Before you apply, the Funds calculator, Visa cost estimator and English score converter help you prepare. If your visa has been refused or cancelled, use the ART appeal deadline calculator straight away. If you are planning permanent residence, use the Skilled visa points calculator, Occupation finder and Regional postcode checker.

Is my information stored or shared?

No. The tools run in your web browser and nothing you enter is sent to us or to Home Affairs. The Work-hours tracker and Key dates planner save your entries in your own browser so you can come back to them; clearing your browser data removes them.

Can a tool tell me for certain whether I will get a visa?

No. The tools give a guide based on the general rules. Only the Department of Home Affairs can decide a visa application, and your result depends on your full circumstances and evidence. For advice on your own situation, speak with a Registered Migration Agent.

How up to date are the tools?

Each tool shows the date its rules and figures were checked against official sources. We review them when the law changes, for example after the 2 October 2026 Student visa changes and the 1 July visa charge increases.

Who builds and reviews the tools?

The tools are built by Aussie ASEAN Education & Immigration Services in Melbourne and reviewed by Mohammad Saghir Khan, Registered Migration Agent (MARN 1170510).

Information checked against official Australian Government sources on 15 October 2026. Requirements and charges change often. This is general information, not migration advice: book a consultation with a Registered Migration Agent (MARN 1170510) before you apply.
