Check your current visa and its conditions in VEVO or the myVEVO app, and the progress of an application you have lodged in ImmiAccount. This guide explains what each status means, what VEVO cannot show and what to do if your visa is about to expire.

Plain-English answers to the questions we are asked most often.
Use VEVO (Visa Entitlement Verification Online) on the Home Affairs website or the free myVEVO app. It shows your current visa, its expiry date and your conditions. You can also email your visa details from VEVO to an employer or landlord.
Your travel document type and number, your date of birth, the country of your passport, and one reference number: your Transaction Reference Number (TRN) from ImmiAccount, your visa grant number, your visa evidence number or a VEVO password. Enter these only on the official VEVO site or app.
VEVO only shows a visa that is currently in effect. It cannot show previous or expired visas, applications that are still being assessed, or a bridging visa that has not yet come into effect because your current visa is still valid.
It means the Department is assessing your application and will contact you if it needs more documents. It does not by itself mean there is a problem with your application.
Check the Home Affairs visa processing times guide. It is based on recently decided applications and does not guarantee a timeframe. Applying with complete documents and responding quickly to requests helps avoid delays.
A Bridging visa A ends if you leave Australia. If you need to travel while your application is being processed, apply for a Bridging visa B before you go.
Act straight away. You need to leave Australia or apply for a Bridging visa E to become lawful again. Staying more than 28 days after your visa ends can lead to a re-entry ban, and being in Australia without a visa can lead to detention and removal.
Only you, or a Registered Migration Agent or authorised person you appoint, should access your ImmiAccount. We never ask for your passport number or ImmiAccount password on this website.
